Cody Buffalograss has a short height and low growth habit which means longer periods between mowing, or no mowing at all! It forms a dense blue-green turf, keeping weed competition low. This allows for a chemical free, low maintenance lawn. Cody grows successfully from Arizona to the Dakotas and has been bred for faster first year cover, winter hardiness, heat tolerance, and drought resistance. Cody is vigorous and excels in rapid establishment making it useful on roadsides, industrial sites, common areas, and residential lawns. Its quality has caught the attention of the golf coarse industry and it is being used extensively in landscapes as a low maintenance lawn.
Developed by the Native Turf Group in cooperation with the University of Nebraska, Cody has established itself as a premier warm-season turfgrass. Faster establishment, higher density, lower growth rate, excellent winter hardiness, low water requirement, darker color, fine texture and a wide area of adaptation give Cody the edge as the choice for low maintenance areas.
Plant NaTurf Certified Cody Turf-Type Buffalograss from seed. A water conserving grass from the "Native Turf Group".
