Dark Green Bulrush is a native perennial sedge that prefers full sun in wet to moist soils. It can be found in wet prairies, sloughs, pond and river shorelines, drainage ditches, or marshes. The seeds are eaten by ducks, Canadian geese, and other fowl. Muskrats will eat the rootstock. This plant is adapted to a wide range of soil types in a pH range of 4.0-8.0.
