Green Wheatgrass, or RS Wheatgrass, is a  very drought tolerant cool-season, long-lived, sod-forming perennial that is weakly rhizomatous. It is a hybrid combining the palatability of Bluebunch Wheatgrass with the productive and vigorous growth of Quackgrasss but without the characteristics of aggressive spreading. This grass is well adapted to most soils including moderately saline sites. It is considered both highly productive and palatable, while also containing a high amount of nutrients. This grass recovers quickly from grazing or haying. It can be utilized on both irrigated and non-irrigated pasture and range sites with success.
