Tall Wheatgrass
Elytrigia elongata
Hay and Pasture Grass for the Northern Great Plains
About Tall Wheatgrass
Tall Wheatgrass is a cool season bunch grass that is very late maturing. Its primary use is for hay and pasture in the northern Great Plains and intermountain regions. It will tolerate wet alkaline soils and is not as drought resistant as other wheatgrasses. Forage production is high, but palatability is not as good as other wheatgrass varieties.
