a.k.a. Tall Cinquefoil is a perennial with erect stems and leaves that are covered in small white hairs. It can grow up to 3' in height with white flowers that have a golden center. The flowers bloom for approximately one month in the Summer. A tap-root with rhizomes helps this plant thrive, but unlike others with a similar structure, the Prairie Cinquefoil is not very agressive. It preferes full sun and dry conditions, and can survive in any soil type as long as it is well-drained.

There are ulraviolet patterns on the flowers of the Prairie Cinquefoil that are not visable to the human eye, but that attract pollinating insects, by making the flowers stand out with white, yellow, and bee-blue colors to the insect eye. The foliage and seeds of this wildflower is occassionally eaten by deer and mice who, in turn, help spread the seeds.
