Ironweed is a native perennial. It will perform best in full sun to partial shade in moist soils. Stems are erect with dark green leaves. The purple flowers appear as clusters and attract many species of butterflies and even bees. This native flower can grow up to 6' in height and would work well as a backdrop or to create shade for other plants in large areas.
