Turfgrass Maintenance Comparisons Levels

A lawn does not have to be the most intensively managed part of a landscape project. Selecting and managing the right turf can provide a low-maintenance landscape, while still retaining the attributes you love about a manicured lawn - low-growing, lush green color, dense-looking sod.

Evaluate various cool season and warm season options before deciding what's right for you. Consider things like:

  • Water usage
  • Mowing frequency
  • Fertilizer requirements
  • Early season green up, late season color retention
  • Drought tolerance
  • Insect and Disease resistance

Our turf-type buffalograss varieties perpetuate themselves and produce attractive lawns, while offering several advantages compared to more traditional cool season turfs, such as Kentucky Bluegrass and Tall Fescue.  Buffalograss is extremely drought tolerant; it requires less water, fertilizer and pesticides and also needs less mowing, thatch control and other management.

A buffalograss lawn can complement any residential, commercial or acreage landscape project. Our 2 varieties, SUNDANCER and CODY, produce a darker, greener color that more closely mimic traditional turf. When left uncut, the fine-textured foliage of buffalograss lends a soft look to any landscape.
