What grass mix would you suggest to cover a fence line that grows approximately 3-6 ft tall?

I would suggest our Prairie 7 Mix. It contains Big Bluestem, Indiangrass, Switchgrass, Little Bluestem, Sideoats Grama, Western Wheatgrass, and Virginia Wildrye. These grasses grow in the same height range you describe, and most are suited to wet conditions. They would provide a sight and sound barrier for your property.

Note that the mix will not reach its full height the first year as the plants are growing their root systems during this time. The second and third years will show the full benefit.

I want to create a short to tall atmosphere that creates a continuous flow into natural forest. Planting in spring.

For the majority of this area, I would use a combination of our Prairie 3 Plus mixture and our Stock's Wildflower Mixture, both at full seeding rates. As you progress toward the natural forest area, adding our Prairie 7 mixture will add height to the overall appearance (due to plants such as Indiangrass and Big Bluestem) of the area.
