About Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky Bluegrass is a well-known, perennial cool season, sod-forming grass that comprises most of the turf areas in the cool, temperate zones of the United States. Likes sun and is somewhat shade tolerant, but not drought tolerant. Rhizomatus root system that concentrates mainly in the top two inches of soil. Highly nutritious grazing value, but forage yield is low compared to other pasture grasses. Very good spring and fall growth, but goes dormant quickly in hot, dry months. Perennial.

For superior Bluegrass turf, use our Best Blend Kentucky Bluegrass. It is a mixture of our best Bluegrass varieties for turf quality and disease resistance.

Seed spring or fall.
