Also known as Golden Tickseed or Calliopsis, this flower resembles a yellow daisy bearing red to maroon banding with a velvet texture. Plains Coreopsis is native to the central Great Plains and southern Midwest. It grows in clusters usually in low lying sites or ditches in full sun.
